Tarun Bohra
Vardhman Organic – A Journey of Multi-Entrepreneurship
INTRODUCTION :
Mr. Tarun Bohra, a 33-year-old enthusiastic and visionary entrepreneur from Dugarpur, District Pali, Rajasthan, has become a remarkable example of how determination, innovation, and skill-based training can transform aspirations into reality.
After resigning from his bank job in 2020, Mr. Bohra decided to pursue his passion for agriculture and established his start-up under the brand name “Vardhman Organic.” To gain technical knowledge, he enrolled in the Skill Development Programme on Organic Cultivation Techniques organized by the Agri Business Incubation Centre (ABIC), ICAR–CAZRI, Jodhpur, from 13th to 15th September, 2021. This training proved to be a turning point in his entrepreneurial journey.
TRAINING :
Following the training, he began cultivating wheat, black gram, sesame (til), and green gram organically on his farm in Dugarpur. The rising demand for organic products motivated him to promote organic farming among local farmers, leading him to establish contract farming networks.
His entrepreneurial spirit did not stop there. In September 2024, he further enhanced his skills by participating in a 10-day Entrepreneurship Development Programme on Pearl Millet Nutri-Cookies organized by ABIC, CAZRI. This helped him expand into value-added millet-based products, boosting both production and market reach across the country.
ACHIEVEMENTS :
During his organic cultivation venture, he encountered challenges in sourcing sufficient compost, which inspired him to start dairy farming. This not only solved his compost requirements but also provided high-quality milk and pure desi ghee, which he began using in his nutritious bajra cookies. The unique taste and health benefits of these cookies quickly gained popularity, significantly increasing demand.
RECOGNITION :
Today, under the umbrella of Vardhman Organic, Mr. Bohra manages a multi-entrepreneurship model involving organic farming, contract farming, dairy-based products, and millet processing. His enterprise now supports employment for over 30 people, while he also conducts on-site training programmes for farmers and students to promote sustainable agriculture.
He has showcased his diverse product range—including cereals (wheat), pulses (green gram, moth bean, black gram), spices (cumin, red chilli, coriander), millets, papad, pickles, multigrain flour, and dairy products (ghee)—at various exhibitions, institutional events, district-level platforms, and through social media. His consistent emphasis on quality and authenticity has built strong consumer trust and brand recognition. He is earning Rs.12-15 lakh net profit with Rs.50-55 lakh turnover per year.
Recently, his enterprise reached a new milestone by entering the international market, with his first export order from Abu Dhabi, UAE, opening doors for global expansion.
Mr. Tarun Bohra’s journey with Vardhman Organic is a shining example of rural youth entrepreneurship, demonstrating how the fusion of knowledge, innovation, and persistence can create sustainable businesses that generate income, employment, and international recognition.
